Case Studies

Recent bespoke WordPress engagements.

A small selection of recent platforms — each solving a problem that off-the-shelf couldn't, and each delivered start to finish by the same person.

AI Integration

Three accessible reading modes per page, in any language — AI-generated and SEO-safe.

A non-profit needed three accessibility reading modes per page, in any language. I built an AI pipeline that generates and translates them on the fly, without the SEO penalty of duplicate content. The result: accessibility compliance across every page, with no added work for the editorial team.

Legacy Modernization

Rebuilt a broken enterprise WordPress site — without changing the frontend.

Replaced a broken Gutenberg-heavy enterprise build with ACF Flex content models, fixed SEO and accessibility at the architecture level, and gave the internal team a backend they could actually use. The frontend stayed pixel-identical so external traffic and inbound links saw no change — all the upgrades happened underneath.

Rebuilt international music festival’s site for peak traffic

An international music festival came to us with a site that crashed during peak traffic, a usability problem, and a previous backup compromise that had cost them production data. We rebuilt the site for speed, accessibility, and ease of use, then put it on managed hosting with backups stored in two separate secure locations.

Security & Hardening

Stopped a theater’s hack-and-recover cycle, then rebuilt their site on hardened infrastructure.

A local theater's WordPress site was getting compromised repeatedly. Their previous developer couldn't stop it. We moved them to secure managed hosting, hardened the existing site against the active vectors, then kept it exploit-free for 8 months while a full custom rebuild ran in parallel.

Platform Architecture

A zero-touch WordPress directory platform — no daily admin required.

A large national member-based organization's directory required daily manual intervention. I built a zero-touch platform where users register, pay, manage, and expire listings on their own, with no admin in the loop. Payment, notifications, and listing lifecycle run end-to-end, scaling without staff overhead as membership grows.

Platform Architecture

One platform deployed to four sites: shared backend, unique brands.

A regional property developer with four distinct apartment communities needed four refreshed websites. Built one custom platform with full UX, SEO, and accessibility improvements, then cloned it to the other three with their own branding. Same technical benefits across all four for substantially less than four separate builds.

Platform Architecture

Two locations sharing one brand name: schema that let Google distinguish them.

A local barbershop expanded to a second location with the same business name. Google was confusing the two locations and consolidating SEO authority incorrectly. We deployed advanced location schema so each location had its own entity, address, business profile, and search presence.

Platform Architecture

Single-page nonprofit site, expanded into full website without a rebuild.

A nonprofit had budget for a single-page site, with hopes of expanding later. We built the page with a content architecture designed to support a full multi-page site in a future phase. A year later, additional grant funding came in and the site expanded with minimal additional engineering.
